The Anatomy of Survival
Featuring works by MAriana Russo
“My work explores the relationship between nature and human behavior, using the tree as a metaphor for resilience, interdependence, and transformation. Through pyrography burned directly into wood and layered with vibrant acrylic paint, I create figures that exist between landscape and body, blurring the boundary between the natural world and the self.
Trees, like people, adapt to pressure, rely on community, and continue to grow despite instability. I am drawn to their ability to bend without breaking.
By merging organic forms with human presence, I invite viewers to reflect on vulnerability, connection, and the quiet power found in persistence. My work celebrates growth that emerges after deconstruction and honors the resilience embedded in both nature and ourselves.”
The Garden of Inspiration
Featuring works by Anna Shorey
“ Since childhood, I have felt a special connection with flowers; I have always been captivated by the vibrant brilliance and lushness of some blooms, as well as the delicate fragility of others. In my early childhood, my parents noticed my passion for drawing and enrolled me in art school, which I completed with honors after six years of study. A couple of years ago, I decided to return to drawing once again, starting with a small greeting card—a step that opened up a world of creativity to me and led to meeting amazing people who, like me, see the beauty and unique wonder of the present moment.
My paintings are executed in a style akin to contemporary realism, infused with elements of Impressionism. Soft, fluid color transitions and blurred backgrounds—hallmarks of watercolor or pastel techniques—characterize my work, placing a strong emphasis on capturing light, volume, and the delicate softness of petals, while simultaneously demanding a high degree of detail, and naturalism. Such pieces are ideally suited for interior décor. I enjoy embedding a hidden message within my paintings, for in every culture, the specific type of flower—as well as its quantity and color—has historically carried a distinct and special significance.”

Featuring live music by David Berchtold
David Berchtold, an acoustic guitarist for more than 40 years, makes the process seem like spreading butter on hot bread as he picks the six-string with melody and rhythm while singing.
Having written over an hour’s worth of innovative original songs, the Illinois native also chimes in with tunes from the cream of the fingerpicking crowd, including Chet Atkins, Doc Watson, Rev. Gary Davis, Leo Kottke, John Fahey and others. He’s made three visits to the Fur Peace Ranch guitar camp, founded and run by another of the greats, Jorma Kaukonen, performing at the student concerts and once playing along with Jorma.
Also expect a range of rock and folk standards including music from The Allman Brothers, Eric Clapton, Doobie Brothers, Bob Dylan, JJ Cale, Grateful Dead and others to pop into the varied song list of this talented performer.
