Wine and Engrave Class

  • Peoria Art Guild 203 Harrison Street Peoria, IL, 61602 United States (map)

Drink wine while engraving a wine phrase on a wine glass! Wine not?

MINIMUM ARTISTIC SKILLS ARE REQUIRED; IF YOU CAN TRACE A LINE YOU CAN DO THIS!

Instructor Roger Wolford, of Wolford Carving, will show you how to engrave lettering and simple graphics onto a wine glass using a rotary tool (like a Dremel). All tooling and supplies are provided. He will demonstrate how to use a rotary tool for engraving, select the proper burs, and transfer a pattern. Here is a good opportunity to try power engraving and avoid the expense of the tooling. This is a beginner to intermediate level class.Materials Provided:• Dust Mask• Rotary power tool• Engraving burs• Wine Glass• Artwork• Wine!

Student Materials Required:• Eye Protection- Please bring eye protection of some kind. Many prefer to use reading glasses (2X magnification or higher) or an optivisor for this class. Prescription glasses or safety glasses are also sufficient.• Proper Clothing- Please dress to get dirty. Creativity can get messy!

Disclaimer:

  • Engraving with power tools will create dust. Please be aware if you are sensitive to dust.

  • The rotary tool has a slight vibration and requires a decent grip. Please be aware if you have any hand related issues.
