Little Big Time- Robert Rowe

Artist Statement:

     Forces of nature and social forces are brought together in imaginative book structures and dynamic monoprints. Robert Rowe is a printmaker, book artist, draftsman, photographer, and letterpress printer whose limited edition and one-of-kind books are in major collections and libraries. In one series of prints, primitive life seems to emerge from the primordial darkness.  “I find monoprints endlessly intriguing—bringing things to life out of the darkness —and it records the energy of the gesture that brought it forth.” He goes on to say that “Prints on the wall are great to look at, but books are meant to be picked up and experienced by both hand and eye.” This exhibit will be a treat for both.
