George and Norma Kottemann Collection
The Peoria Art Guild and the Peoria Riverfront Museum co-sponsored an exhibit of selections from the private art collection of George and Norma Kottemann at the Riverfront Museum. The show honored the lives of a very special couple who have enriched the culteral life of Peoria. The exhibit ran from April 8 through July 9, 2017, with a reception for members of the Peoria Art Guild held on Friday, April 7 from 7 to 9 pm.
For decades, George and Norma Kottemann found ways to share their passion for the arts by supporting arts organizations and artists activities throughout Central Illinois. George Kottemann served on the board of the Peoria Art Guild for more than 40 years and was instrumental in the sculpture installation of Bruce White's "Portal", featured in the traffic circle at Harrison and Washington.
The Peoria Art Guild was pleased to share representative works from the Kottemann collection with the whole community. This event provided a unique opportunity to view a world-class art collection in the museum's elegant gallery space.
